We are proud to announce Officer Elias Burne as our newest School Resource Officer! SRO Burne has been an integral part of the Bar Harbor Mount Desert Police Department since 2018, where he has served with distinction in the patrol division. He will be serving MDI High School, Conners-Emerson School, and Mount Desert Elementary School.

Bar Harbor Police Sharpen Skills with Comprehensive Training

The Bar Harbor Police Department recently conducted an intensive training day that combined firearms qualification at the shooting range with hands-on practice using non-lethal equipment, underscoring the department's commitment to officer preparedness and public safety.

At dawn, officers gathered at the department's designated shooting range where Range Safety Officers carefully oversaw qualification exercises. Each officer methodically worked through a series of drills designed to test accuracy, proper weapon handling, and decision-making under pressure.
