Our Communications Operators answer every 911 and non-emergency call for Bar Harbor and Mount Desert. They triage emergencies, dispatch police, fire, and EMS, coordinate with neighboring agencies, and keep first responders informed so help arrives fast.
Core Responsibilities
Every call is different. Operators rely on training, technology, and calm communication to keep callers and responders safe.
Emergency Call Processing
Quickly gather location, nature of emergency, and caller safety to get the right help moving.
Radio Dispatch
Assign and track units, relay updates, and manage high-risk incidents across multiple channels.
Records Management
Document calls for service, incident details, and responder activity in CAD and RMS systems.
Multi-Agency Coordination
Coordinate with fire, EMS, county dispatch, and mutual aid partners during complex events.
